David Wilson is a sleeper, alright. He. Is. Retired. I mean… Really, sirs? Is this a joke? This list was updated yesterday. The link to the full article is here.
This is clearly a cautionary tale for all you fantasy footballers out there. But, let’s put this into the context of the overall media. I grew up with a very inside perspective on what was actually happening with professional football organizations so I learned from an early age that the media rarely gets the story right. In many cases it’s not really their fault. They’re often not given access to the full story or fed incorrect information by individuals pushing their own agendas. However, it’s always fascinating to me to talk football with friends who are fans and hear them repeat all the information they hear shouted at them from their flat screens. Whether it’s an opinion about a coach or player, or simply game analysis, they will repeat whatever Jaws, Colin Cowherd, or Tony Dungy says. And again, I can’t fault the fans either. It’s a natural tendency for all of us to believe things we hear, take them as facts, and repeat them. prepaid visa cards for online gaming
This fantasy football blunder is such a small example of a professional making a mistake and passing along incorrect information. But, if it happened here, imagine all the other incorrect information that is being spread around by the media. Not only in sports but in politics, crime, social issues… Anyway. Please don’t draft David Wilson.
