I know…it came out a month ago… but if you haven’t seen LT: The Life & Times yet, please add it to your DVR. I highly recommend watching this character study of an extremely gifted athlete and complex man. We’re talking the OG LT here. Don’t get it twisted.
Gearing up to watch this documentary I was prepared to get into the down and dirty details of a wild life lived by the most notorious NFL linebacker. I was not prepared to hear such a truthful telling of a man’s successes and failures. The honesty that is served in this extremely well done Showtime film is breathtaking. virtual money casino
At the beginning of the film, LT faces the reality that he will be walking his daughter Tanisha down the aisle along with another man, her stepfather. LT’s children speak candidly about not feeling like they had a father throughout their childhood. His daughter Tanisha saying, “there’s still no genuine relationship between us.” Tanisha goes on to say, “my dad is just a human, he is a human who makes mistakes… but his heart is pure, his intentions are pure, and his love for his family is pure too.” sweden online gambling
In this film I saw Lawrence Taylor as an incredibly sensitive and intelligent man. His addiction and his bad behavior were perhaps a product of those two traits.
I am in no way excusing being charged with rape, or the abuse of illegal substances; we are all held accountable for our actions and must face the repercussions. He has faced them in several ways, his familial relationships have clearly suffered and he has been held accountable by the law on more than one occasion. real money casino ipad app
The question I have, which I find myself asking in many other instances in life, (football and non-football) is: how can someone be so aware and thoughtful in certain aspects of their life and so unaware and careless in other aspects? I think we all know someone who has their shit together in one area of their life and is a total mess in another. Why is that?
I hate watching glossy documentaries that ignore the faults in the subject’s life and simply heighten their successes. We can all learn from seeing each other’s pain, it brings us closer as a species. I commend everyone who was involved in this film for speaking so truthfully about his or her experiences. LT is a larger than life athlete and personality, but his mistakes are ones that we can all relate to on some level.
